People will gather for a vigil in Landon Robbins's honor at River Front Park in Harriman Friday.
(WBIR-Spring City) Two East Tennessee communities will celebrate the life of a 5-year-old boy who was allegedly beaten to death last week.
Residents from Rhea and Roane counties will gather at River Front Park in Harriman Friday to raise money for Landon Robbins's funeral, which was Thursday afternoon.
Officials charged his mother, Jessica Robbins, 29, and her boyfriend, Bradley Adcox, 22, with beating the young child to death last Friday. A preliminary autopsy shows that Landon died of blunt force trauma. His mother told officers that Landon fell off the swing set the day before, but investigators said the boy's injuries weren't consistent with that type of fall.
Robbins and Adcox are facing aggravated child abuse and
neglect charges and didn't receive bonds.
According to his obituary, Landon was a student at Spring City Elementary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Evans Mortuary to help pay for his funeral expenses.
