Engine problems sparked a boat fire Monday on Norris Lake.

TWRA says a woman was driving a 22-foot long wakeboard boat near Anderson County Park.

The woman's husband was parking their car when she went for a short ride. When she was coming back to the marina, the man noticed smoke coming from the boat's engine.

The woman said the engine stalled. She opened the engine hatch, the fire spread, and it destroyed the boat.

The woman grabbed something to float on and jumped in the water.

A nearby boat helped pull her to safety, and firefighters eventually put out the fire.

Investigators are not sure how the engine fire started.
