(WBIR-Oneida) It looks like Scott County's hospital could in just a matter of weeks.
Scott County Mayor Jeff Tibbals says the hospital's administrator, Pioneer, told commissioners at a meeting earlier this week that it will open the entire hospital at once. The company had originally planned to open as an urgent care facility first, then add the emergency room later.
That opening could be only weeks instead of months away, although a definite timeline is not set.
The hospital passed its licensure survey, but officials found a few minor deficiencies in the Life Safety survey. That inspection checks to make sure that things like fire alarms, doors, and electrical outlets are working properly. Mayor Tibbals says more than half the list has been corrected.
When the remaining issues are fixed, they will schedule another survey and hopefully be able to reopen after that.
The hospital has been closed since May 2012. It will reopen as the "Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott."
