A Campbell County teacher is in jail accused of teaching while intoxicated.

Campbell County deputies arrested 55 year old Angleen Broyles at Campbell County High School on Thursday.

Court documents show the School Resource Officer called for deputies to come to the school after receiving several complaints from students that Broyles was intoxicated in her classroom.

When deputies arrived, Broyles had been taken to the central office. She told deputies she had taken some prescription medication. Deputies say Broyles failed several sobriety tests.

She later told deputies that she had a a dozen Xanax pills in her purse. Broyles was unable to provide proof of a prescription.

Officers charged her with public intoxication and drug possession. Court documents show Broyles has been arrested twice for driving under the influence, once in 2003 and once in 2004. She was arrested in 2007 for driving on a revoked license.
