The district attorney in Morgan County is saying it will be impossible for crews to identify animals found in a mass grave near a crematorium this week.

The story came to light on Tuesday. That's when we learned Cameo Farr, the owner of Elliott Pet Services in Morgan County, was under investigation for improper disposal of family pets.

A TDEC spokesperson says Farr told investigators her incinerator broke so she started burying the remains on the property.

The investigation prompted dozens of customers to worry about what happened to their animals. Based on the investigation so far, District Attorney Russell Johnson says it will be impossible for TDEC crews to identify the animals they dug up. They say some of the animals could have been buried for more than a year.

Johnson says TDEC is leading the investigation. He plans to meet with officials next week to determine whether Farr could face any citations or charges.
