The owner of a pet crematory where investigators found dozens of dead dogs and cats in mass graves has surrendered her permit.

The Tennessee Department of Environmental Conservation (TDEC) says that means Cameo Farr can no longer perform pet cremations.

In December, investigators uncovered the remains of animals that were supposed to be cremated at her business, Elliott Pet Services, in Morgan County.

Last week, the District Attorney General said he's looking to press charges against Cameo and is waiting for the results of TDEC's investigation.
