(WBIR) An elderly East Tennessee man was taken into custody Saturday evening after shooting one of his relatives, according to authorities.
The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Campbell County Sheriff's Department told WBIR 10News that Denvin Miller, 80, shot a man two times on Back Valley Road in LaFollette.
Authorities said after a 30 minute standoff at the scene, Miller eventually surrendered.
The injured person was flown by Lifestar to UT Medical Center. He was taken into surgery and as of Saturday evening was listed in critical but stable condition.
Authorities said they believe the two men are related and that alcohol is being looked at in the investigation as a factor.
Campbell County Sheriff's Department said Miller was treated and released from LaFollette Medical Center. He is free pending the results of the investigation.
