An East Tennessee woman who authorities said shot and killed her boyfriend last month is now facing murder charges.

Documents show a grand jury indicted Lisa Estelle Elliott, 47, late last week on one count of second degree murder. Prosecutors originally charged her with criminal homicide.

According to authorities, Elliott shot and killed her boyfriend, Larry D. Champlin, 53, during an alcohol-related domestic disturbance in their home in the Elk Valley Community.

Champlin died from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
