(WBIR) A Sevier County church has a new landlord, but members found out Sunday one aspect of the church will get a little more time in its current location.
Ron and Betty Ogle recently purchased the Evergreen Church building on Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevier County. The church held its last service Sunday in that building.
The congregation will now move and share the Seventh Day Adventist Church building.
Church officials said the Evergreen Day Care will be allowed to stay in the building for now, even as a new church congregation plans to move in soon.
Before the decision was made there had been some concerns the day care would be forced to shut down in the interim.
Full statement from Evergreen Church provided to WBIR 10News:
"To the glory of God and for the good of His people, Evergreen Church has found a new temporary home to meet during the week, sharing the Seventh Day Adventist Church building on Hwy 66 in Sevierville. The Child Care will continue in its present location, and Parkway Church of God in Sevierville will soon move into the building previously occupied by Evergreen Church on Dolly Parton Parkway. All parties, including Ron and Betty Ogle, the new owners of the building, have met together, prayed together, and have worked together to see that Christ is exalted in the decision made, and that the ministry of both churches and the Child Care may continue without interruption."
