The Sevier County Humane Society has found a new place to call home. The shelter's president said it is moving from its current location in Pigeon Forge to Sevierville.

President Sally Worden says the new 10-acre property off Newport Highway will allow them to better serve Sevier County, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.

The shelter bought the property for $550,000. Now, they're looking to raise $1 million to build the new shelter.

Worden says they plan to start fundraising right away.
