A man was arrested Friday evening in East Tennessee after more than a month on the run after U.S. Marshals say he attempted to kill a woman in Kentucky.
McArthur Douglas Young, 39, was arrested in Cosby on charges out of Wayne County, Kentucky, for conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and drug trafficking.
U.S. Marshals say Kentucky and Tennessee authorities have been searching for Young since December 19, 2013, when they say he chased and fired multiple shots at a woman from his truck. He was considered armed and incredibly dangerous.
Young was found in a rental cabin. Officers say he tried to run, but ran into more officers, then surrendered and was taken into custody without further complications.
Jaime L. Sweet, who was with Young, was also arrested and charged with resisting arrest and criminal impersonation.
Young is being held in the Sevier County Jail while he awaits extradition to Kentucky. Sweet will remain in Sevier County to face local charges.
