Tazewell woman killed in single car crash

(WBIR) - A single car accident early Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a Tazewell woman.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol 26-year-old Leslie D. Perkey was driving northbound on Chapman Highway when she crossed the center line near Zion Hill Road.

Perkey veered off the left side of he road, hitting the guardrail, traveling over the embankment and flipping twice. The car came to rest on the passenger side after hitting a parked, unattended minivan.

Perkey died as a result of the injuries she received in the accident, her two year old passenger did not suffer any injuries.
