Pigeon Forge firefighters have a new state of the art tool to help fight fires.
The department showed off its new fire truck Thursday. It replaces a truck they've been using for 24 years.
Fire Chief Tony Watson says the new truck will allow firefighters to get to scenes faster and set up quicker. He said it's a game changer in many ways.
"Safety factors, low center of gravity, all those factors. Speed of setting up, and doing it quickly. Ease of operation and ease of driving. We've got to get to every call and all those things are all very important with the terrain that we deal with," said Chief Watson.
He says he hopes this fire truck will last for the next 20 years.
