Sevierville Police are looking for a driver who was involved in an accident that severely injured a little boy.

The accident happened at around 7:30 pm on Friday night (August 15) at the intersection of Old Knoxville Highway and One Way Street.

Witnesses told police that a 7-year-old boy was riding his bike down One Way Street and wasn't able to stop as he approached Old Knoxville Highway. He collided with a beige or gold station wagon that was traveling north. The driver apparently got out of the car, checked on the boy, then left.

The boy was seriously injured and taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators are trying to locate the driver and the car involved. At this time, they do not believe he was at fault in the crash, but would like to speak to him. The driver was a white man in early to mid 60's. The car was a beige or gold colored station wagon that may have damage to the driver's side door.

Anyone with information is requested to contact SPD Officer Jamie Roberts at 865-453-5507.
