(WBIR, Knoxville) - Usually skipping class is a bad thing, but Wednesday Johnson University students did just that, except it was all for a good cause.

It's called the K13 Project. The entire student body formed teams and went out to volunteer at local non-profit organizations.

One of those was Beardsley Community Farm in Knoxville. Students helped pull weeds, mow, and clean up the area surrounding the farm.

This is the fourth year the university has held the community service day.
