A man who was wanted for aggravated assault was arrested Monday night after a short chase, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say they spotted Christopher Forrester around 9 p.m. on Chapman Highway. They say we refused to pull over, then was stopped by spike strips on Cherokee Trail. He was then taken into custody without further incident.

The sheriff's office says Forrester was considered an escapee because he had a court order to go from the Knox County Jail to a treatment center, but failed to follow the court-ordered treatment. Charges against him are pending.
