Knoxville Police have charged one of two men they say robbed three students at a South Knoxville bus stop in November.

The three South Doyle High School students, two freshman girls and an unidentified boy, were waiting for the bus that morning on Island Home Avenue when two men approached them. One of the girls told 10News that the boy was trying to protect them when the suspects assaulted him. The girls tried to run, but the men caught them and stole their backpacks containing their school-issued laptops.

Investigators tracked the suspect through the laptops. They were sold on Craigslist within hours of the theft, and have since been recovered.

Timothy Peck, 19, of Knoxville, was charged with one count of assault and two counts of robbery.

Police are still working to identify the second suspect.
