Update 10:55 a.m.
Officials said an ongoing family feud may have prompted an accident involving a truck and a pedestrian in south Knoxville Thursday night.
Witnesses told police that Sherry Lands, 46, confronted a truck trying to pass in front of her house. Lands allegedly refused to get out of the way of the truck and began hitting the vehicle with a piece of wood and her hands, according to a Knoxville Police Department release.
The driver, Bradley Thompson, 19, reportedly hit the woman, knocking her to the ground, when he drove away. Officers said after the accident, Thompson went to Kroger and called police, reporting he thought he hit someone.
Crews took Lands to UT Medical Center for her injuries. As of last night, she was listed as stable. Officials have interviewed and released Thompson.
Police said once the investigation is complete, they'll send it to the district attorney's office for review.
