(WBIR) Three armed suspects broke into a Knoxville man's home, demanded money, and robbed him at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Department. The victim told KPD the incident happened after he recently had been bragging on Facebook about winning money from scratch off lottery tickets.

The incident happened on the 700 block of Redwine Street in South Knoxville around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim said he was sleeping but woke up after hearing a loud crash. He opened his bedroom door and was confronted by a man holding a gun. That suspect reportedly pointed a revolver at him and asked "where the money at?"

The man told authorities two other armed suspects then rushed into the man's room yelling about money.

The victim said the armed men hit him in the back of the head with the butt of a revolver. The suspects grabbed some cash out of the man's pants, which were on the floor.

Then, while the suspects searched his home, the victim was able to run out the front door and get to his neighbor's house, where he called 911.

According to KPD, the victim said he didn't recognize any of the suspects. He was treated at the scene for his injuries.
