(WBIR-Knoxville) Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam will talk about changes to his company during a press conference Monday at 10 a.m.
Haslam is expected to talk about what Pilot is doing in response to the rebate fraud scandal, but he won't take questions at the event. The company said that's because of the ongoing criminal investigation.
Federal investigators are looking into claims that Pilot Flying J cheated hundreds of trucking companies out of money they were owed in a fuel rebate program.
It's been more than five months since the FBI raided Pilot headquarters in Knoxville. Since the raid, seven Pilot employees have pleaded guilty in federal court to fraud-related crimes.
"Clearly some people who worked for Pilot Flying J - I should say apparently made bad decisions - and I think I made it very clear we're going to deal with that. Clearly we have to deal with the government investigation, we are dealing with it and continue dealing with it going forward," Haslam said during an appearance Sept. 17. "We have more than 25,000 people working for this company, and the vast majority of them do the right thing everyday taking care of customers."
