(WBIR) Police identified Knoxville man who was struck and killed by a car in west Knoxville Sunday night.
Witnesses told officers that Charles Hurst, 55, had been drinking all day and was on his way to the store to buy more alcohol. Authorities said it appears Hurst stepped in front of a car near the intersection of Middlebrook Pike and Clyde Street just after 8 p.m.
The 17-year-old driver told officers he didn't see the Hurst until just before impact. The teen won't face any charges. After the accident, crews took Hurst to UT Medical Center where he underwent surgery, but later died from his injuries.
