Update, Tuesday 11:31 am:
(WBIR) Police released the name of the Knoxville woman killed in a crash on Middlebrook Pike Wednesday night.
The Knoxville Police Department said a delivery van traveling the wrong-way crashed head-on into Angela Pressnell's car near Ed Shouse road at about 7:40 p.m. Officials pronounced the 50-year-old woman dead at the scene.
James Rector, 70, of Chattanooga was driving the van, according to a KPD press release.
Police said they're still investigating the crash, and haven't released whether Rector will face charges.
Update, Thursday 5:30 am:
Knoxville Police say around 7:40 Wednesday evening a delivery van was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Middlebrook Pike.
The van collided head-on with a Scion XB traveling in the westbound lanes.
The driver of the Scion was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the van was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators are not releasing the names of the drivers at this time.
Middlebrook Pike was shut down for a couple hours Wednesday evening after a fiery head-on crash.
The Knoxville Police Department said two vehicles hit each other head-on, then one caught fire.
Middlebrook Pike was shut down from Ed Shouse Drive to the Weigel's near KUB. Police diverted traffic up to I-640 and back to Weisgarber the other way.
No word yet on injuries.
