(WBIR-Knoxville) The Knoxville Fire Department battled two late night fires Friday.

The first call came in around 10 p.m. on Walden Avenue in West Knoxville. According to officials, no one was home when the fire broke out, damaging the home.

While crews were working on hot spots, neighbors in North Knoxville spotted flames at a home on Emerald Avenue.

When firefighters got there around 11:30 p.m., they said flames lapped from the front door onto a covered porch. Crews were able to put out the second fire quickly, according to Captain D.J. Corcoran.

No one was hurt, and officials were investigating the cause of both fires.
