(WBIR-West Knoxville) A baseball tournament benefiting Knoxville first responders wrapped up Sunday night at Lakeshore Park.

Youth baseball teams have been playing to raise money for the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation.

The foundation benefits four core agencies: Knoxville Police Department, Knox County sheriff's office, UT police, and Knoxville Fire. It helps out when an officer or firefighter is in a time of need or in a situation where all expenses can't be covered.

The tournament raised over six thousand dollars.

But the fun didn't stop when the games were over. People at the tournament could donate some money to have either KPD Chief Rausch or KFD Chief Sharp pied in the face. It turned out to be a tie. So, they both were good sports and rewarded the crowd for raising so much money.
