Some Knox County families will have a new transportation option to consider when school begins next week.

Knoxville's Smart Trips program is starting a School Pool pilot program at Bearden Middle School that connects parents who need some help getting their kids to and from class.

Several options are available, including arrangements for parents who can't commit to driving.

Parents who already have a carpool arrangement are still encouraged to sign up.

Registration is open at any time, even after school starts.

For more information, or to register, visit the School Pool website. You can calso email Christi Wampler at christi.wampler@knoxtrans.org or call (865) 215-2916 for more information.
