NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a man who was dodging cars on a Manhattan street, leading to police gunfire that wounded two bystanders, faces multiple counts including menacing and resisting arrest.

Police say 35-year-old Glenn Broadnax, of Brooklyn, has also been arrested on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Two officers opened fire Saturday night near Times Square after Broadnax made movements suggesting he had a weapon, though he turned out to be unarmed.

The officers' shots missed him, and he was eventually brought down by a stun gun.

The bullets struck a 54-year-old woman in the right knee and a grazed a 35-year-old woman in the buttocks, police said. Neither had injuries considered life threatening.

Broadnax is in custody. The Associated Press couldn't locate a phone listing for his home.
