(WBIR) A bill that would help educate teachers on how to teach children with dyslexia, a common reading disability, passed through the Senate unanimously Monday.

The "dyslexia is real" bill officially recognizes the disability in Tennessee and would help teachers better understand the disability and the challenges it presents in the newsroom.

The bill would also work to create a specific teaching strategy.

The bill is now heading to the House for approval. The House version of the bill is currently in the House Ways and Means Subcommittee.
