(WBIR- KODAK) The Tennessee Smokies are packing up and going home after their post season came to a halt Monday night.

The Cub's Double-A team lost to Birmingham 7-4, giving the Barons the North Division Championship in front of more than 2,000 fans.

The Smokies took a one run leading into the second inning. The Barons then added two runs. Then the Smokies tied it up.

The big damage came in the fourth as the Barons scored four runs. Only one of them was earned.

The Smokies were never able to catch up.

They ended the season with a 76-62 record.

The 2014 home season opens April 9th against the Chattanooga Lookouts.
