Over the weekend, Tennessee's discussions with Louisiana Tech head coach Michael White intensified, but Monday morning CBSSports.com's Gary Parrish reported that talks had cooled and White was likely to stay at Tech.
ESPN's Jeff Goodman tweeted Monday afternoon that White would stay at Louisiana Tech.
Volquest.com says the two sides were hung up on the contract, specifically with what the buyout would be by Tennessee once a deal moved beyond the first two seasons.
The name now emerging if Tennessee is done with pursuing White is Southern Miss head coach Donnie Tyndall. Volquest.com says Tyndall has expressed interest in the job.
