In a press conference on Thursday, South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier had some fun at the expense of the Gamecocks' upcoming opponent, Tennessee.
He said, "Will be the 14th time I've coached in Neyland Stadium. ... I've coached there more than some of their head coaches."
As Vol fans know all too well, Tennessee has had four head coaches and one interim head coach since 2007.
This isn't the first time Spurrier has taken a shot at Tennessee. Back in the 90s, when Spurrier was the head coach at Florida, Tennessee finished second in the SEC to his Florida team several years in a row. The Citrus Bowl (now the Capital One Bowl) used to traditionally be the bowl game for the team that finished second in SEC, leading Spurrier to quip: "You can't spell Citrus without U-T."
Boom! Bowl game spelling jokes!
Tennessee and South Carolina will square off Saturday at noon (ET) on ESPN.
