A couple of Tennessee freshmen picked up some new honors this week.
Receiver Marquez North and defensive back Cameron Sutton were named to the Freshmen All-SEC team on Thursday.
UT says Sutton is the third consecutive Tennessee defensive back to earn the honor while North is the first Tennessee wide receiver to do so since Justin Hunter in 2010.
Sutton had a great first season at Tennessee, making 39 tackles and starting all 12 games. He led the Vols with nine passes defended including two interceptions and seven pass break-ups. He also had four tackles for a loss with a sack and two fumble recoveries. He was also the Vols' first true freshman to return an interception for a touchdown since Eric Berry did in 2007 against Florida.
North started in all 11 games he played and was the team leader in receiving yards with 496 as a true freshman. He finished second on the team with 38 receptions, the second-most by a freshman in school history. He had his first career 100-yard game with three catches for 102 yards in the upset win over #11 South Carolina.
