CBSSports.com college basketball writer Gary Parrish is reporting that Tennessee is focusing the search for its new head basketball coach on Louisiana Tech's Michael White.
ESPN.com reported Sunday that White is considering whether or not to take the job and that it's not a given he will head to Knoxville.
White signed a six-year, $3.6 million extension with Louisiana Tech on April 3. His buyout is $600,000.
White has been the head coach at Louisiana Tech for three seasons and was named the 2013 WAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their first regular season conference championship since 1999. White's LA Tech squad reached the NIT Quarterfinals last season and the NIT second round the previous year.
White played college basketball at Ole Miss and served as an assistant coach for seven seasons under Rod Barnes and Andy Kennedy before accepting the Louisiana Tech head job.
His father, Kevin is the athletic director at Duke University.
