The 30-second public service announcement features the foundation's Advisory Board Honorary Co-Chairs, Peyton Manning and Kara Lawson
(WBIR-Knoxville) A 30-second public service announcement for the Pat Summitt Foundation will air on movie screens nationwide in September.
The PSA features the foundation's Advisory Board Honorary Co-Chairs, Peyton Manning and Kara Lawson, along with a statement from Summitt.
"We are tremendously grateful to Regal Entertainment Group for this significant and very generous contribution that will further the work of the Pat Summitt Foundation on a national level," Summitt said in a press release.
"I also want to personally thank my friends, Kara and Peyton, for giving their time and lending their voices as spokespersons, and RIVR Media for producing this PSA."
Regal Entertainment Group runs the largest theater circuit in the United States, with 7,340 screens in 576 theaters in 42 states.
"Regal is proud to help by sharing this message from the Pat Summitt Foundation to our moviegoers all across the nation. Pat is an inspiration to us all and her foundation is raising significant awareness about Alzheimer's disease and the critical need for research funds to find a cure," said Greg Dunn, president and COO of Regal Entertainment Group.
"Pat's efforts are a source for encouragement and support to the 5.5 million Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers in America."
September is World Alzheimer's Month. The Pat Summitt Foundation raises money for research for Alzheimer's disease, promotes education and awareness of the disease and its treatment and supports Alzheimer's patients and their families and caregivers. Summitt and her son, Tyler Summitt, established the foundation in November 2011 after Summitt's diagnosis with early-onset Alzheimer's.
