A few additional fantasy nuggets to help owners set their Week 8 lineups, including injuries, sit/start matchup, a tip of the week and the hottest waiver wire pickups.
VALUE METER: Week 8 position-by-position rankings
RB Doug Martin, Buccaneers (out)
Martin is out with a torn labrum indefinitely. Mike James is a must add and could provide value down the stretch.
RB DeMarco Murray, Cowboys (questionable)
Limited in Wednesday's practice, so don't expect him to be rushed back into action with Joseph Randle playing well.
QB Josh Freeman, Vikings (doubtful)
Experiencing concussion symptoms, so Christian Ponder goes back under center.
WEEK 8: Start 'em, sit 'em
RB Brandon Jacobs, Giants (questionable)
Hamstring isn't expected to be healed in time to play Sunday. Backup Peyton Hillis can provide RB3 value, especially in PPR leagues.
WR Cecil Shorts, Jaguars (probable)
Held out of practice again as a precaution, he played and caught eight passes despite shoulder injury last week.
WR James Jones, Packers (questionable)
Jones didn't practice Wednesday and is considered day to day. Jarrett Boykin is a solid start after breaking out with 103 yards and a score last week.
ANOTHER SCRAMBLE: Injuries, bye weeks shake things up
RB Steven Jackson, Falcons (questionable)
The long wait since Week 2 finally ends. He said early this month he wouldn't return until 100%, which makes him a solid play this week.
QB Sam Bradford, Rams (out)
Torn ACL turns the offense over to Kellens Clemens. Best to avoid all Rams in the Monday nighter.
WR Roddy White, Falcons (questionable)
White has been slow to recover and the Falcons will probably rest him another week. Harry Douglas is a must add and could provide value even when White returns.
TE Jermichael Finley, Packers (out)
Finley should be placed on IR sometime this week. Andrew Quarless is expected to replace him but is a poor fantasy option.

START: WR Marques Colston, Saints
Colston has three catches in his last two games and hasn't scored since Week 1. However, the Buffalo Bills have yielded 101 catches and 12 scores to wide receivers through seven games.
SIT: WR Harry Douglas, Falcons
Atlanta's new No. 1, Douglas had 149 yards and a score in Week 7. His luck likely will run out this week facing off against Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson.

Tip of the week
A common mistake fantasy owners make is demanding that trades must be of equal value. Player values are always speculative. If your team gets better at a position that was weak and you deal from a position of strength, regardless of the players involved, that is a good fantasy trade.
