The Blitz game will be CAK at Catholic. Catholic does have the better record, but CAK should not be taken lightly. Their loss to Powell was only by 1 and their offense has consistently put up the big numbers. This battle between the private schools should be close and a great game to catch. We will start live at 7 from Catholic.
The talk of Knoxville high school football right now is Fulton. After a 46-0 win over Powell then a 52-0 win over Bearden, Austin-East is going to have a hard time defending their own field this Friday. Fulton has not given up a single point the past two weeks while Austin-East has not been able to put up enough points to win either of their games against Grace, 19-55, or Anderson County, 24-56. This game is not looking too good for Roadrunners as they might just have to hit the road running once Fulton's defense attacks.
Campbell County has also made a statement with their two wins. Campbell County's defense has only allowed 6 points to Cumberland Gap and their offense has put up a combined total of 91 points against Cumberland Gap and Lynn Camp (KY). The Camels will play at Central. Central played last Thursday against Jefferson County and fell 20-32 to the Patriots. This game has the potential to be a blow out in Campbell County's favor.
Sweetwater had a "sweet" 52-22 victory over Meigs last week to make up for the bitter 14-41 loss to Greenback. They will travel to Loudon Friday to take on the Redskins. Loudon has not been able to taste that sweet victory yet and does not look like they will get the opportunity to this week as well. Loudon has lost both of their games, William Blount 7-40 and Lenoir City 0-26. Loudon's offense is going to have to step up their game as well as the defense to allow not as many points on the board.
Farragut has had an exciting season for their fans as they came down to the last 35 seconds against Dobyns-Bennett and held on to a close one to Oak Ridge. The Admirals are 1-1 for the start of the season but could easily gain their second win this week at Lenoir City. Lenoir City has only had one game this season against Loudon in which they won 26-0. This is not the most impressive win, but a win is a win, right? This should turn out to be a good game if you are looking to see a close one this week.
Another game that has the potential of watching if you are looking for a game to scout-out under the Friday Night Lights is Sevier County at Morristown East. Morristown East started their season out big with a 52-7 win over West Greene and last week they pulled off a close 35-34 victory over William Blount. Sevier has only played one game and it was against Bearden. The Smoky Bears won 62-27, but this win does not seem to hold ground against other teams' wins. Bearden has struggled and Sevier's defense allowing 27 points only could lead to possible trouble on the defense. Although, both teams should go into this game with confidence as they both have shown to be tough teams in their previous games.
Each earning their first win at their first game last week, South Doyle will battle it off at Jefferson County. Neither of the wins were very impressive because of who they were to, but given the scores from last week this could be an interesting game. South Doyle's Jocquez Bruce, who was Week 1 Offensive Player of the Week, could be a major threat to Jefferson County. He is a player to look out for in this game.
Maryville looks like they could have another one in the bag this week as they host West. West has only one huge win on their record due to a bye week last week, but their 65-7 win over Karns is not the most impressive win. West will put up a fight and some numbers. but will not be able to hold ground against Maryville's strength.
Some other games you can catch highlights of tomorrow night on The Blitz are Union County at Gatlinburg-Pittman, Carter at Pigeon Forge, Clinton at Oak Ridge, and Tellico Plains at Grace.
