Coalfield takes the win at Oliver Springs
The USA Today High School Game of the Week featured Coalfield and Oliver Springs, who both looked to get a win in this district match-up. After a Coalfield blowout win in their first game, they received a taste of their own medicine in their second. This game would be much closer. They bounced back from last week and beat Oliver Spings in a barn-burner 14-6.
Fulton destoys another team once again as they host Gatlinburg-Pittman
Fulton has been merciless during their remarkable season thus far by piling up the points on the opposition. They've outscored their opponents 216-7 through four games and looked to build on their unblemished record against Gatlinburg-Pittman. They won in blowout fashion, 62-8 and move to 5-0. The Highlanders suffered their first loss of the season.
Central clinches win over Powell
Powell would make the trip to Central to take on the Bobcats. Both teams are coming off of wins, but on this night it was Powell in a tight one. A back and forth affair all night with plenty of offense, Central would squeeze out a close 37-35 win at home. They move to 2-1 and Powell takes their first loss of the season.
CAK takes the win and upset over Scott County
What looked to be a potential blowout at CAK went horribly wrong. They faced a Scott County team who have rolled to an undefeated 4-0 record. An interception recovered by CAK on Scott County's first possession led to a score early. CAK never looked back. After a Billy Spencer 83-yard touchdown run made the score 21-0, the Warriors opened the floodgates. The tables were reversed as they win the game in blowout fashion, 47-7 delivering Scott County their first loss of the season.
Bearden pulls through for their second win as they host Lenoir City
Bearden faced Lenoir City at home with both teams desperate for a win. With only two wins shared between them, both teams are coming off losses. The defense was in full effect in the first half as Lenoir City led 10-6. It wouldn't last too much longer in the third quarter. The Bulldogs began churning the offense and won the game 26-17.
Hardin Valley takes their first loss at Maryville
Another set of undefeated records would match-up tonight at Maryville who hosted Hardin Valley and just as predicted, Maryville would take the easy win. The Rebel's defense completely shut-down the Hawks offense allowing no points. Maryville would take the 49-0 win and remain with a clean record after defeating Hardin Valley.
West collects a home win over Farragut
A long-standing rivalry tonight at West who hosted Farragut. Farragut was coming off of a tough loss to Fulton and hoped to use that motivation to push them to a win this week. West would come out on top, 25-16.
Grace gets the big win hosting Harriman
Grace Christian began the night celebrating their homecoming and ended the night with even more celebration from a huge win. Grace hosted Harriman for this district match-up. Grace was able to keep their untouched record with not a single scratch after facing the Blue Devils. The Rams defense was electric tonight as they did not allow a single point for the second week in a row. Grace would enjoy a sweet victory of 54-0 over Harriman.
Alcoa goes big on the road at Kingston to take home another win
Talk about an offense showing up and off tonight on the road, Alcoa would give Kingston a run for their money in Week 4. The Tornadoes would take Kingston's defense by a whirlwind as they racked up the points. The Yellowjackets have yet to be able to capture a win and tonight was definitely not their night. Alcoa would take the biggest win yet, 70-13.
McMinn County loses on the road at Oak Ridge
Oak Ridge's defense was on point tonight as they hosted McMinn County. McMinn's offense had difficulty finding holes to make plays against the Wildcats. McMinn has struggled the past three weeks and tonight would not be any different for the Cherokees. Oak Ridge holds on to the 28-19 win over the Cherokees.
William Blount sneaks out a win at Heritage
Offense was slow tonight at Heritage as they were one of the few teams who were not able to get a win at home during Week 4. Defense on both teams played tough and were not allowing the offense to touch ground for a touchdown. William Blount would finally feel the end zone and win the game 7-0 over Heritage.
