CAK at Grace
The USA Today High School Game of the Week showcased a striding CAK team, who upset Scott County in their district matchup last weekend. Grace Christian, on the other hand, has been steamrolling through teams thus far on their schedule and this night was no different. CAK made the game respectable, but Grace Christian pulled away to win 27-13. They're four games away from a perfect regular season.
A Chattanooga team, Brainerd made the trip to Knoxville to take on Austin East. Both have these teams have struggled this season, both winless on the season. This game was a close one, but Austin East took the win 21-18 for their first win of the season. Brainerd fell to 0-6 on the season.
Powell at Anderson County
Anderson County was undefeated on the season at 5-0 and the crowd filled the stands for their game against Powell. The Panthers had other ideas. Following a close loss last week to Knox Central, they found themselves down at Anderson County 14-0 in the first quarter. They found their footing from the roaring crowd and won the game 41-27. They rose to 3-2 on the season.
Central at Fulton
Who can beat Fulton? That's the question everyone has been asking from week to week and thus far, no one has even come close. The bigger question is: who can score against Fulton? Central answered yes to the second question, but came short on the first. They lost 69-14 in a route and the Falcons continue to blaze through the competition this season.
Catholic at Hardin Valley
Catholic is undefeated, Hardin Valley only has one loss. Not much separated these teams coming into their matchup tonight. This game was close and points came at a premium as could have been expected. Catholic won the game 15-14 to keep their winning streak alive.
Maryville at Sevier County
Both Maryville and Sevier County came into their game undefeated, but Maryville was somehow favored in this game because it's Maryville. They've run through their schedule with nobody even coming close to beating them. They treated Sevier County as just another game on the schedule. The highest rated team in the state humbled the Smoky Bears in a route 55-6.
Campbell County at Halls
Campbell County traveled to Halls for a district match-up. The Cougars pounced on the Red Devils early racking the score up to 42-0 by half-time. Halls could not even make this a close one. Campbell County strengthened their record with another win, 56-0.
Gibbs at Oak Ridge
Oak Ridge ended the night proud as they hosted Gibbs. Oak Ridge, coming off of a three game win streak and only one loss at the beginning of their season, was ready to play tonight. The Wildcats got up big in the first half and continued the trend into the second. Gibbs tried to throw some trick plays out there, but it was just a little too late. Oak Ridge would hold them and take the win, 57-28.
Harriman at Wartburg Central
A tough night for Wartburg at home as Harriman paid them a visit. Kaleb Elam touched down in the endzone three times in just the first quarter. The Blue Devils were ruthless on the Bulldogs. This night would end in an ugly 48-6 loss at home for Wartburg.
Cleveland at West
West hosted an unfamiliar team to the Knoxville area for Week 5. Out of Chattanooga, Cleveland would take a shot at the 3-1 West team. Both teams had similar records and even from the pregame anyone could tell this would be a great match-up to catch. However, it would be West that pulled away in the end. They would take their fourth win over the Blue Raiders, 35-25.
