USA Today's defensive player of the week goes to Cameron Kuerschen from Grace Christian. Kuerschen collected 65% of the votes to claim Week 7's title. He had five tackles, one interception that he returned for 39 yards, six rushes for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Kuershen's interception was his first of the season as well as most proud moment of the game.
"The quarterback was rolling out and I had a guy run an out route. It looked like the quarterback was going to run so I came up and then he threw the ball and I jumped and intercepted it," said Kuerschen.
Head Coach Randy McKamey was also impressed with his quick hands on this play.
"Unbelievable interception. They threw the ball and he was really up close on the quarterback, just made a very athletic play and jumped straight up in the air. It was just one of those things where the camera loses the ball it was picked off so quick," said Head Coach Randy McKamey.
