Thursday night of Week 8 in high school football was a great night to be a team on the road. Several teams played a night early, so lets just go ahead and call this a mini Blitz.
Rivalry hit a high tonight as Farragut visited Bearden. The Bulldogs were the first on the board, but once the ball ended up in the hands of Bryan Phillips, Farragut quickly gained control and this year's bragging rights. Phillips had a total of three touchdowns tonight to help Farragut take a win on the road. The Admirals would win it 38-6.
West left little room for Hardin Valley to have hope at home tonight. As they entered half-time the Rebels were already leading the Hawks 43-12. The score would not change that much during the second half, but West would leave heads held high with a 49-12 win over Hardin Valley.
Started out sloppy tonight at Karns who hosted Gibbs. Karns has struggled this season getting wins, but they were the first to score and their defense started out solid against the Gibbs offense. However, that was not how the Karns defense would finish. Gibbs would pull away in the 4th quarter to win 24-10 over the Beavers.
Austin-East still searching for their first district win as they hosted Pigeon Forge. The Tigers would not allow it though as they took control in the 2nd quarter when Kolby Black intercepts the ball. Pigeon Forge would go on to win 33-6 over Austin-East.
