Fulton starts out slow hosting Sullivan South
Fulton is a team that expects to win the state championship, but in their second round game against Sullivan South, they found themselves down for the first time all season. Sullivan South took a 13-7 lead in the first half, but the Falcons would respond. After a Fulton score would make it 14-13, they never looked back. They received their first scare of the season in that first half, but end up blowing out the 10-2 Rebels 41-19.
South Doyle takes tough loss at Anderson County
In a classic match up between two high-powered offenses, the only difference between 7-4 South Doyle and 10-1 Anderson County is that the Mavericks are stellar defensively. This game was close as expected, but Anderson County rips the Cherokees for their 11th win of the season and a ticket to the next round of the playoffs, 32-27.
Oneida takes loss at Grace Christian
Grace Christian had an unblemished record going into their game with Oneida. This was the first time the two schools met. However, there is a connection with the two schools. The former coach at Oneida is now on the Grace Christian coaching staff. Grace Christian came out fast and pumped in the points like they have all season long. Grace wins 47-27 and their season-long winning streak continued.
Campbell County finishes their season at West
This was supposed to be a good game with two teams with only one loss a piece. Campbell County sat at 10-1, West 10-1. Campbell County's offense was nowhere to be found, but West continued their infiltration of their opponents' end zones. They embarrass Campbell County in their second round playoff game 50-18.
Maryville wins big at Morristown East
After Maryville struggled in the first half of their game against Bradley Central last week, many believed that Morristown East thought they had a chance to make it interesting. It appeared as if Morristown East did not believe they could win themselves. Maryville crushed East 49-7 and sent the Hurricanes spiraling home.
Pigeon Forge suffers loss at Alcoa
Pigeon Forge came limping into this game with a 6-5 record against powerhouse Alcoa, who has been stifling teams on both sides of the ball. Pigeon Forge squeezed out a win against Sullivan North last week, but looked helpless in this game against Alcoa. The Tornadoes send the Tigers home with a 61-13 loss.
CAK wins big hosting Johnson County
CAK has been streaking, winning three straight going into their game with Johnson County. Johnson County made it interesting early and kept up with the Warriors in the first quarter. From then on they dominated possession and dominated the game. They beat Johnson County, 56-19 and move to 6-6.
Webb takes win hosting USJ
Webb had won seven straight games going into their game with the visiting University School of Jackson. Webb's offense was primed to perform and did not hold back all night. They took a 28-7 lead going into halftime and cruised to victory 48-21.
Sevier County takes big win hosting Science Hill
Sevier County has scored at least 40 points in each of their last six games, which were all wins. Science Hill came into their match up with six wins in a row. In what was supposed to be a high-scoring, competitive game, turned into a high-scoring game for one team. Sevier County proves too much to handle for the Hilltoppers and win 63-20.
Catholic wins in overtime at Signal Mountain
In what was likely the most entertaining Knoxville-area game of the night, Catholic took on Signal Mountain. It was back and forth all night and needed extra time to decide a winner. Catholic won in dramatic fashion, scoring on a two-point conversion to make the final 38-37 and move on to the next round of the playoffs.
Midway takes the win at Cloudland
Midway came into their game against Cloudland having won two in a row. They looked to make it three against the Highlanders, who were coming off of their only loss of the season. Midway looked in postseason form as they beat Cloudland 26-14.
Elizabethton ends their season at Greeneville
Elizabethton holding a strong 10-1 record as they travel to Greeneville who is undefeated. The winner of this game will play the undefeated Fulton Falcons next week. The Greene Devils were able to pull of the 49-20 win over the Cyclones, and will give the people what they have been wanting next week, Fulton's greatest challenge.
Sequoyah traveled to Hixson with high hopes in the second round. This match up would end close, but in Hixson favor as they defeat Sequoyah 15-12. They will play Catholic next week.
