Blackman falls 28-16 at Maryville
Maryville hosted Blackman in hopes to make a return in the state championship next week. However, the Rebels had a tough challenge ahead of them as the Blaze have brought the heat all season and burnt Maryville early on in the game. They will get a chance against Hendersonville as they make their 10th consecutive appearance in the 6A State Championship.
West wins big hosting Cleveland
West breezed their way through not only majority of their season, but through post season as well. Tonight hosting Cleveland was no different. The Rebels put up points, and they put them up quick leaving Cleveland little to no hope. They would go on to win 49-14 and will play Henry County for the 5A title.
Catholic falls short at Fulton
Fulton is debatably the best team in the state. They have proven to be unstoppable and tonight was no different. The Falcons started out slow hosting Cahtolic, but were able to pull through in the second half. They had to play a second week without starter and offensive star, Daryl Rollins-Davis. However, they would manage to come out on top with a 41-34 win. They will face Giles County for the 4A title.
Alcoa spins Upperman upside down
Alcoa has not played games by any means this post season. Alcoa has mercy-ruled every team playing with a running clock in the post season. Tonight the Tornadoes wrapped up Upperman and threw them upside down and spun them all around. This matchup was not what you would have expected to see in the semifinals, but Alcoa would win 75-18. This power house will face CPA next week in the 3A state championship.
Trousdale County wins on the road at Grace Christian
Unfortunately for two Knoxville teams the journey would end here starting in 2A as Grace would fall to Trousdale County. Trousdale got a lead quick on the Rams, and Grace found it hard to recover. They would end their season 12-1 after tonight's 34-27 loss. Trousdale will face Adamsville for the 2A chamionship title.
South Pittsburg takes win at Coalfield
The crowd was electric tonight at Coalfield who hosted South Pittsburg. The entire field was surrounded by fans of both sides. This matchup started out close in the first quarter, but South Pittsburg was able to pull a quick lead in the second and push through for a 43-22 win on the road. Tough loss for another Knoxville team as Coalfield's season ends. South Pittsburg will play Union City for the 1A title next week.
Also, don't forget Webb playing for a title next week. The Spartans had a bye tonight, but will face St. George's for the DII-A title.
