For a handful of Knoxville schools, this high school football season is about defending their hardware.

It was an early Friday morning for Knoxville area high school football teams. They gathered at 8 a.m. for the 8th annual high school media day at Three Ridges Golf Course.

43 teams attended, bringing coaching and players to speak to the media.

Patrick Murray takes a look at some familiar faces taking over local programs.

Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic was the title sponsor of the event with many others that aid the Knoxville Football Officials' Association in earning money for scholarships. In the past 31 years, the KFOA has awarded scholarships that have paid $108,000 in tuition awarded to various colleges and universities on behalf of 68 athletes from 24 different area high schools.
