The Pentecostal preacher who has been e-mailing daily devotionals to President Obama since 2008 has put 365 of them -- a full year -- into a new book.
Joshua DuBois tells Time magazine: "I've obviously been writing these devotionals for the president for years with the focus of helping him think about how to have peace in tough times and get closer to God and live a life of purpose and joy even when he's got a lot of pressures."
During Obama's first term, DuBois served as director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
The President's Devotional: The Daily Readings That Inspired President Obama will be published Tuesday.
The devotional for that day: "Dear God, let me run toward, rather than away from, correction. Reduce my pride, increase my humility, and help me be malleable to good advice. Amen."
