Another sports result from last week: President Obama won two games at the pool table, taking $20 from the governor of Colorado (but later giving it back).
"The man is a shark," Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper told reporters over the weekend about events at a Denver bar last Tuesday night.
First, Obama won a $10 game from the governor. Then he won a double-or-nothing contest.
"I didn't know that people in Hawaii played that much pool," Hickenlooper said of Obama. "But evidently they do."
Time magazine reported that Hickenlooper also said:
"I gave him (Obama) the $20 bill and he laughed. And of course by that time the press corps had all left, but there were still 100 people who were there with their cellphone cameras.
"So he said, 'no, no, governor, come over here — hand it to me again.' And he holds the $20 bill up so that everyone can get pictures of it. And I give it to him.
"And as he's getting into the car he shakes my hand, and in his handshake is a $20 bill and he says 'find a good charity.' Which is, like, very diminishing."
