(WBIR) Don't put away those jackets just yet, changes are coming soon to East Tennessee.

People enjoyed a gorgeous weekend filled with sunshine and warm temperatures, but another strong cold front is stealing spring away from us for a couple days.

FORECAST: A look at the week ahead

The front will pass through East Tennessee during today and into tomorrow. These storms won't be severe, but they're expected to be windy. Today a cloudy morning will gave way to showers at about lunchtime. Expect scattered showers through the rest of the today, with highs reaching mid-70s.

Tomorrow temperatures will plunge into the upper 30s thanks to a powerful cold front. It will feel like winter as we head into the afternoon Tuesday. Before going to bed Tuesday, be sure to cover your plants because there will be a hard freeze come Wednesday morning, with lows hitting 27 degrees.

Fortunately, temperatures will climb back into the 60s by Thursday, and highs will reach the 70s by Friday. Those pleasant conditions will continue into the weekend.
