Adam Roberts has a face you're not likely to forget: It's covered with a skull-like tattoo.
Police around Godfrey, Ill.,
across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, are hoping that his
distinctive appearance will jog a few memories and help them recover
thousands of dollars of other people's property stolen from 28 storage
lockers last month.
Roberts, 24, was charged with three felony counts of burglary on Friday.
Commenting on Roberts' mug, Capt. Mike Dixon of the Madison County Sheriff's Department told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that it was "the oddest thing I've ever seen in 20-plus years of law enforcement."
"I've
seen horns on foreheads and stars on necks, but I've never seen a skull
on a face," he said. "I can't explain it. It's just odd."
Among
the stolen goods were electronics, video game equipment, TVs, a small
refrigerator, fishing gear, DVDs, paintings, an antique chest of
drawers, a mirror and a sewing machine.
If someone in the St.
Louis region bought something from someone with a skull tattoo covering
his face, Dixon said, "it's probably this guy."
