Beyoncé didn't give herself much time to shed her baby weight.
As the cover girl for the April issue of Shape, the superstar shares that she gained 57 pounds during her pregnancy. "I didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!" she says with a laugh.
Beyoncé says a healthy diet and dance workouts helped her reclaim her pre-baby body, which sizzles in the photo shoot.
"Talking about weight can be a very touchy subject for women, but Beyoncé was willing to do it because she wanted to make every woman out there feel like she too could achieve what she did," says Tara Kraft, Shape editor in chief.
"I am not a person who is naturally very thin. I have to work to keep my body in shape," Beyoncé says in a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot. "Everyone is not supposed to be the same. Be healthy, but be happy with the beautiful things that make you you."
