It's not easy to go to a Madonna concert. They're infamously overheated, tickets are insanely expensive (but usually sell out anyway) and negotiating the commute to and from is, in a word, a nightmare. Granted, there are younger, faster pop stars like Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga nipping at her well-worn stilettos, but Madge is not going anywhere soon.
On May 19, at the Billboard Music Awards, Madonna will be honored as 2012's top touring artist. Her MDNA tour roped in a staggering $305 million at her 88 sold-out shows, which 2.2 million people attended.
