The weekend's warm weather made it the perfect time to get outside and enjoy our region's lakes and rivers.
Many boaters told WBIR 10News it was a relief to finally get a full-weekend of spring like weather. Concord Marina was very busy Sunday.
Harbor Master James Bisch said he saw more people on the water Sunday than he has in the last 6 months.
"We've had a lot of people coming in and inquiring about slips which has not been the normal," he said.
Last year, much of the Spring and Summer were a washout.
On average, Knoxville gets a little under 48 inches of precipitation a year. In 2013, the region surpassed that total, in July.
"We had too much rain last year," said boater Douglas Hamburger. "In fact, I think every weekend it rained. We had very little time on the boat."
Boaters weren't the only ones out enjoying the gorgeous weather either. Paddleboarders were also having a great time Sunday too.
Billy Lush Brand, a paddleboard shop on Volunteer Landing, said it had plenty of rental requests this weekend.
"Today was really, really busy, [and] it went really, really well," said employee Hannah McEwan.
