Melting Asian Shrimp Bowl


4 oz soy sauce

10 oz shrimp stock

2 Tbs green onion, finely chopped

2 Tbs black sesame seeds

1 tsp crushed red pepper

4 Tbs instant gelatin

1 Tbs sesame oil

4 Tbs canola oil

20 large shrimp, peeled, de-veined and butterflied

3 Tbs chives, finely diced

4 Tbs red bell pepper

1 cup Teriyaki sauce

1 cup sweet chili sauce

2 cups shrimp stock

1.5 lbs lo mein noodles

2 cups fried won ton strips

2 Tbs sriracha

4 Tbs chives


Simmer soy sauce through red pepper flakes for 5 minutes. Add gelatin. Stir until gelatin is blended. Pour in a 2" baking dish. Cool until firm. Using a 4" circle cutter, cut a round base out of gelatin mixture. Cut an additional 2" circle out of the base to create a bowl. Heat a wok or heavy bottomed pan. Saute shrimp on high heat in both oils for 3 minutes. Add chives through lo mein noodles. Simmer until shrimp are cooked (about 3 minutes). Garnish with wonton strips, sriracha and chives. Pour hot noodle mixture in bowl. Serve ASAP. The flavored bowl will melt table side in front of your dinner guests.
